Feminine Christmas Tag - Day 9

Ellen Hutson's The CLASSroom has such gorgeous inspiration for it's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  Day 9, with Paula Cheney is such girly goodness.  Here is her tag:

35
And my version:

Started with an ivory die cut tag and smeared it in distress inks.  After it dried, embossed it with an embossing folder and then painted some of the raised areas with Perfect Pearls gold and water.  I didn't have a wreath die, so I die cut a ring using 2 sizes of circles and glued the newsprint to some grunge board and die cut some leaves.  Cut the leaves apart and arranged on the circle to make the wreath.  Added a little sponging with Distress Ink and then rubbed on some Distressed Stickles in Worn Lipstick.  Made the bow as per her instructions.  Punched the little branches out of kraft cardstock, colored with Distress Stain in Tarnished Brass then added Stickles in Old Paper.  Stamped the sentiments in Memento Rich Cocoa on ivory cs, die cut and adhered to the tag.  Added pink pearls and tied with twine.

Christmas Tags and Birthday

I love the Twelve Tags of Christmas with a feminine twist at Ellen Hutson's, The CLASSroom.

Inspired by Day 1, I love how Sharon did the background this way.

Inspired by Day 3,  I love Julie's fun design.

Inspired by Day 4, Jennifer made some beautiful accents by cutting and coloring the metal sheets.

Inspired by Day 7, Julia made an incredibly shimmery, gorgeous tag.

This is for a late December birthday, right before Christmas.  I didn't want anything, remotely Christmasy for this, so I went with sparkly balloons and primary colors.
I used the sketch from MOJO Monday

Sparkly 25th

I used the color challene from The Play Date Cafe

and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

And for the Crafty Friends Challenge to make a CAS card.

Die cut the black dotted line dp.  Die cut the 25 in the deep red piece and adhered strips of Scor Tape behind the cut out and sprinkled black glitter over the 25.  Die cut a zig zag border for the triangle accents along the edge.   Layered onto a white card base.  So quick and easy.

A few for Christmas

I have been AWOL for a little while, but I am back for now with a few challenge cards.
I used the colors for The Play Date Cafe

And the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

The background is a digi dp that was slate on white that was misted with eucalyptus spray ink.  Added the chevron washi tape.  Stamped the tree in slate on a green striped piece of dp and added the sentiment stamped in rose colored ink.

The November challenge at Stampendous Impressions is to use glitter.

I won this beautiful image from Stampendous and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.  Stamped on kraft cardstock then colored with Touch Twin Markers.  Added touches of glitter to the leaves and the berries.

Core'dinations Hard Core Crop Challenge on Tami Mayberry's Blog is to make a 10 minute card.

Core'dinations White Wash was embossed and sanded.  Stamped the tree and sentiment in a coordinating ink.  Die cut the image and sentiment and layered onto a white card base.  Very quick and easy.

Wow!  Long post and I appreciate you stopping by!

Sentimental

The challenge at Crafty Friends Challenge  is to use a sentiment as the main focal image.

I decided on a CAS style.  Stamped the sentiment from Gina K's Tag You're It! set in Memento Lady Bug ink and added the circle of sparkly dots with Stickles Xmas Green.  Punched it out and layered it on a red punch slightly larger.  Added strips of washi tape to a Neenah Solar White piece and layered onto a red base.  Very quick and simple.

Ferns in a Stone Vase

Another one for The Play Date Cafe color challenge

Smeared Distress Stains in Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo on ivory cadstock and ran some water over it to blend the colors a little.  When dry, sprayed it with Terra Cotta color mist.  Stamped the vase with Versamark and heat embossed with Tim Holtz Distress ep in Vintage Photo giving the vase a stone look.  Stamped the ferns and the lace border.  Stamps by Gina K - Lacy Borders and Vogue Vases.

More CPS and a New Place

A couple of cards for the final challenge at CPS.

Sketch #38

Stamped the little mummy and colored with Prismacolor markers in Brick White and Putty.  The chevron pattern is from Gina K's Pretty Patterns stamped in Memento Grape Jelly.  Added the sticker letters for the challenge at Moxie Fab to use sticker letters.

Sketch #40

This also fits the challenge at Moxie Fab to use journaling tags.  I trimmed the tag and stamped the Merry Christmas and the snowflakes on it from Gina K's set Tag You're It!.  Embossed a piece of red Core'dinations and lightly sanded it and die cut the little snowflakes from glitter cardstock.  Layered all onto Pool Party cs.

I just discovered a new sketch blog CAS(E) This Sketch!
Sketch #3

This was really hard to get a good photo of, the dp I used just wouldn't cooperate.  The sentiment and the image are from Gina K's set Heartfelt.  Dp is from DCWV Tropical Stack.  Layered onto a Kraft base.  I think I am going to like this site!

Thanks for coming over!

The End is Near

I have 3 more cards for the CPS final challenge.  So sad to see it end, CPS was a great site of inspiration to me.

based on this sketch

The spider and web - Snag 'em stamps and the flourishes by Technique Tuesday all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The purple and green dps are freebies from Mel Stampz.  This is also for the Creative Belli Challenge #155 - Halloween.

based on this sketch

No stamping on this one!  Sizzix ornament die pieced together and Stickles added to the zig zag.  Dp pieces are scraps from my stash.  Washi tape chevron strips with holographic self-adhesive bling and tied the top of the ornament with 2 different pieces of blue twine.  Blue embossed piece is Core'dinations embossed with a Sizzix folder.

CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stamp TV CSS Alumni Blog Hop.  It's been a long time since I have participated in one of these hops, so hopefully I got everything right!  This time around is a sketch challenge by the super talented Melissa Cash:

If you arrived here from Miesje's blog you are in the right place.  If not, then you can return to Stamp TV and start from the beginning.

I used an older Gina K set - Boo!, illustrated by Asela Hopkins.  Stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black on Gina K PL white cardstock.  Reverse masked the moon sponging with Memento Dandelion, Cantelope and a little bit of Tangelo.  Then masked the moon and sponged Memento Blue Sky, Danube Blue, Paris Dusk and Tuxedo Black.  Sponged the edges of the black mat with some white.  Added some washi tape and Sakura Stardust gel pen to the windows for some sparkle.  Cardstock used:  Gina K Pure Luxury White, Black, Vibrant Violet and Orange from the Calypso Assortment.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (October 30), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Next up on the hop is Tera!

The End of CPS

I was sad to learn that CPS  http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/  is going to be done at the end of this month.  So I chose the sketch based on this card by Deb Felts:

I chose Tami Mayberry's set by Gina K - Gnome One Like You.  Stamped the flamingo and the bushes with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Touch Twin Markers.  Stamped the circle thing from another Gina K set by Nina Brackett - Bug Me Anytime in Memento Tangelo and added a pink piece of bling to the center.  Added some washi tape strips and printed the chevron design from Mel Stampz http://melstampz.blogspot.com/, she has some awesome free dp on her site.  Cardstock used:  Gina K Pure Luxury White and SU Kiwi.

Emboss Resist

The challenge this week at JUGS is a technique challenge - Emboss Resist:  http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2012/10/jugs-158-technique-challenge.html

I started by stamping the leaves with Versamark onto white cardstock and heat embossed with copper ep.  Then I took some TH Distress Stains in Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Barn Door and Vintage Photo swiping them across the embossed piece overlapping the colors.  Then I buffed off the embossed leaves with a tissue.  Sprayed the sentiment label with Tattered Angels gold, then added Versamark around the edges and heat embossed wth TH Distress ep in Tea Dye, stamped the sentiment and added the copper brads.  The ribbon had white stitching so I rubbed it with Wild Honey Distress Stain.  Matted onto a layer that was also heat embossed with the same Distress ep and layered onto a brown base.

Christmas Sketch

The sketch from The CLASSroom for the WCMD 2012 Challenge 3 really got my attention:  http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/2012/10/wcmd-challenge-sketch-by-sharon-harnist.html
WCMD2012EllenHutsonSketch

This is also a fit for the Crafty Friends Challenge to use dry embossing:  http://craftyfriendschallenges.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/?p=308

I know this is a loose interpretation of the sketch, but I had to flip it so that the snowman would fit.  The snowman was colored with Touch Twin Markers.  The background was embossed with a Sizzix snowflake folder, then decided I wanted some shimmer, rubbed the background with Versamark and sprinkled some Kaleidoscope ep by Stampendous (which is very shimmery) and then heat embossed.  The pennants and border are Spellbinders dies.  Added brads and decided that the pennants needed something, so stamped and embossed in white the little snowflakes from Gina K's set Holiday Hospitality.

Milestone Birthday

This card is for a friend who is going to be turning 50 in the very near future.
It fits for the challenge at JUGS this week:  http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2012/09/just-us-girls-156-use-numbers-on-your.html

It also fits for the World Card Making Day Week:  make a birthday card at Moxie Fabhttp://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/10/world-card-making-day-week-make_3.html

The 50 was die cut using glitter cardstock.  I dug through my stash of dp and pulled out the blue chevron and the purple polka dots.  I wanted the card to be bright and cheerful.  Stamped the sentiment from Gina K's Fanciful Labels with Memento Grape Jelly ink and die cut with pennant dies.  Added a strip of Bo Bunny orange dotted ribbon and finished it off with some I Rock bling attached with the I Rock tool.
