Photo Inspiration

Marisa has a beautiful photo for inspiration this week at Just Us Girls!

I was inspired by the orange leaves and the tablecloth.  I used Core'dinations Kraft Core for the embossed background and lightly sanded it to reveal the core.  I also used Core'inations Shattered for the leaves, sanding the edges and coloring the stems with a brown marker.

I also needed a wedding card and went with the leaves once again.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I used metallic rub ons in copper, gold and red on the leaves and added a strip of gold washi tape.

Just Us Girls Color Challenge

Nancy has a beautiful color combo for us this week at Just Us Girls!

The inspiration photo is beautiful, but I went for a more quirky style.

Image is a Golden Oldies, stamped and colored with Touch Twin Markers, then cut out and layered on top of the chevron dp.  I love to combine dp and to stick with the colors, opted for the fun polka dots for the background.  Stamped the sentiment by Gina K Designs in VersaFine onyx ink.

We would love to see what you create with this color combo!  Come join us at Just Us Girls!

Think Pink Challenge

I made this baby girl gift set for the Think Pink Monthly Challenge over at Tombow USA Blog

I used various girly papers in pink, ivory and brown to cover the chipboard heart box and picture frame adhered with a Tombow glue stick.  Covered them with Mod Podge and embellished using chipboard letters, Prima Flowers and die cuts.  The inside of the heart box was painted pink using craft paint.  The heart box can be filled with assorted baby items:  onesies, socks, pacifiers, rattles, etc.  The card images are by Stampin Up and Imaginesce.

Die Inlay Technique

Vicki has a great technique challenge for us this week at Just Us Girls!  There is a link on Vicki's post to follow for a video on this technique.

Die cut the stars and fit them together like puzzle pieces!  This technique is very addictive and I just couldn't stop at one.  This one uses a Tim Holtz Sizzix die.  Sentiments are by Gina K.

And one more using more Tim Holtz Sizzix dies.  I didn't do one in the reverse because I cut the deer on the wrong part of the dp :(.  I had to add the punched glitter cardstock circles to hide a little boo boo on the edge of the pennant.

Come play along with us this week!  You will find out yourself how addicting this technique can be.

Thanks for visiting!

Rock Star

Playing with the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays this week.  I have a bowl full of sequins and this was the perfect push to use them.

Die cut the stars and pieced the yellow one inside the blue one.  Stamped the chevron with Memento Luxe Danube Blue ink and stamped the sentiment with Memento Nautical Blue ink and randomly scattered the blue and gold sequins and attached with a Tombow glue pen.

Thanks for stopping by!

Shape It Up!

I am pretty traditional when it comes to making cards by sticking to A2 size and shape, so this week's challenge at CAS on Sunday to make a shaped card is truly a challenge for me.

Used the 2 largest Spellbinders Labels  dies for the base, scoring one of the red die cuts 1/4 inch from the top edge and attaching it with ScoreTape to the front piece.  Stamped the images with Memento Luxe inks in Love Letter and Nautical Blue, then added a little Sakura Stardust red gel pen around the edge.  Stamped the starburst type images on the blue with Studio G cream ink.  And lastly, added the Core'dinations Glitter Silk punched star.

Images and sentiments from There She Goes - Hauntingly Delightful.  Stamped the mummy and ghosts with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Touch Twin Markers and cut them out.  Added Sakura Stardust black gel pen to the eyes.  Stamped the sentiment with the same ink and die cut with a Spellbinders rectangle die, left it in the die and sponged Memento Tangelo and Cantaloupe ink in the opening.  Dug into my dp scraps and found these stripes an polka dots, the flourish and black border were already on the polka dot dp.  The mummy was attached with Pop Dots.

Thanks for popping in!
