Love, Wish, Dream

I used the colors from the Colour Me Challenge

And the sketch from Stamplorations

This is the first time I tried the chalkboard technique, not sure if it turned out right or not!  I used some Tim Holtz stamps, some washi tape and a red Paper Pen.  The white and gray cardstock is from Gina K.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Challenge #228 - Color

Sharyn is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous photo for our inspiration for this week's color challenge.

I went with the blue, pink, yellow and green!  The rocking horse is from Gina K's Oh Baby! set which I colored with Touch Twin markers and cut out.  Layered the blue scalloped, yellow oval and green striped ovals then added the rocking horse.  Added white Souffle gel pen dots to the scalloped oval and Paper and Pearl pen "pearls" on the embossed background which is Core'dinations White Washed in green.  Tied on the yellow ribbon and layered onto the blue base.

Just Us Girls Technique Challenge #227

It's my turn to host this week's technique challenge.  I came across this new to me technique - Inked Die Cuts by Becca at Amazing Paper Grace.  Follow the link for a tutorial.  It's a very messy technique, but I am glad I tried it and really like the results.  It looks like many, many layers.  It did take me 4 tries before I got the hang of it!  If you just can't get the hang of it, I am offering an alternate technique, to sponge ink on the die cut while it is still in the die to shade around your image or sentiment and give you a clean white/light border.

And don't forget to check out our Guest Designer for the month of February - Melissa Hubert!

Cardstock used:  Gina K Pure Luxury White and Little Boy Blue, and blue striped dp from my stash.
I used Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink to ink my dies, stamp the polka dots and stamp the sentiment by SU.
I love this darling little boat from Gina K's Oh Boy!  Stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Touch Twin Markers.  Cut it out and popped it up.

Just a reminder:  if you win Chic of the Week in any of our February challenges, you could be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of April.

There are some great challenges out there this week!

My Favorite Things - Get Sketchy
MFTWSC162

Colour Me - Monochromatic

And the Mod Squad Valentine Challenge - must have a heart and glitter

I used glitter cardstock for the purple heart and added some Wink of Stella on the LOVE.  The square layer is covered with gray print washi tape.

The other challenge I am playing in this week is CASology

Die cut the leaves from cranberry cardstock and used metallic rubs in gold and copper.  Die cut the edge with a scalloped border, stamped the sentiment and added a strip of gold washi tape.

WPlus9 Challenge

Wplus9 has a comfort zone challenge to create a card in your own style using their stamps.

I would have to say that my comfort zone is either CAS or Clean and Graphic.  My comfort zone changes with my mood!
A stencil was used for the background, sponging ink in pastel shades of the rainbow.  I stamped the Fanciful Feathers by Wplus9 with Wplus9 white ink and heat embossed on pink and purple cardstock and die cut with one of their dies that coordinates with the Fanciful Feathers.  Stamped the sentiment from the same set and die cut with a pennant die and popped it up over the bottom of the feathers.

Thanks for dropping in!

Chevron Birthday

A new challenge blog to me - Seize the Birthday, with the option of chevrons for toppings.

Thank you to Nancy for letting me know about this challenge blog.  Hopefully, no more last minute birthday card making.

I did a kind of rock n roll technique on the chevron by Gina K with yellow and red ink by Hero Arts.  Stamped the Imaginisce bird and paper pieced it with some fun stripes.  Stamped the berry branch and added some Viva Decor Paper Pen pearls in red, orange and yellow.  Added the sentiment by Gina K on a Spellbinders ribbon slide die cut and trimmed a scrap of dp as a faux ribbon.  It was all done and I noticed a tiny smudge!  Viva Decor Pearl Pen opal dots to the rescue.

Thanks for taking a look!

Celebrate!

Playing along with the Mod Squad Challenge again - Are you on the "CASE".

I chose a card by Laurie Schmidlin with it's fun design.

Laurie - Kissables2

Using up some scrap pieces.  I changed the colors, sentiment , hexagons instead of circles and Viva Decor Paper Pen dots instead of stars.

Thanks for visiting!

A Couple of Birthday Cards

I used a couple of sketch challenges for 2 birthday cards that I needed to make.

Freshly Made Sketches

Stamped the images with Hero Arts Neon inks and the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.

and My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club
MFTWSC161

This one is for my soccer loving grandson.  It's hard to see, but the blue banner is glitter cardstock.
Colored the stars in the sentiment with a Sakura Stardust yellow gel pen and added some turquoise dots on the orange dot image.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Challenge #226

Maria is our challenge hostess this week for our sketch challenge at Just Us Girls!  Check out the fun sketch that she has come up with.

We could like to welcome Melissa Hubert as our February Guest Designer!

First I stamped the Stampendous striped belt and buckle on the blue polka dot dp and adhered to the white base.  I die cut the heart with some red striped dp and die cut the white base layer also with the heart.  Stamped the sentiment and added a touch of red glitter to the heart dot of the i.  Added faux stitching around the edge of the heart.  It seemed too plain, so added another little heart with faux stitching.  Looking back, I wish I had used some embossing powder for the belt for more solid coverage.

I made one more covering a chipboard heart with patterned paper and heat embossing the sentiment.  And added a couple strips of polka dot washi tape, a glitter heart and tied with twine.
