Just Us Girls Challenge #256

This is Wildcard Week at Just Us Girls!  Marisa is challenging us to make anything other than a standard A2 sized card.  On a sadder note, this will be Marisa's last week with us on our Design Team and we will all miss her presence.

Don't forget to check our August Guest Designer - Kristie Goulet!  This will be Kristie's last week with us, so make sure you leave her lots of love!

I cut out 3 tag shapes and die cut the star out of the patterned layer and another one from the yellow patterned paper.  Glued the patterned tag to a white tag then inlaid the yellow star and stamped the sentiment.  Took the third tag and scored it just below the hole and creased it.  Adhered the left portion to the card front and tied on some twine.  Misted the wooden stars with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in yellow.  Sentiment is by Gina K.

I had to make one more tag card using some die cut vellum feathers.

Come play with us at Just Us Girls and you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week. And all of our Chics of the Week from August will be entered into the running to becoming our Guest Designer for the month of October!

Watercolored Flowers

I am joining in on the STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge

I started by stamping the Eclectic Florals flowers and jar with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper.  Then painted over the images with distress inks.  I like the way the flower on the left turned out much better than the one on the right.  I obviously need a lot more practice!  Used a stencil on the larger panel and misted with Heidi Swapp mist in coral.  Added the sentiment from Holiday Artsy.  Rounded the upper right corner due to a little bend in the cardstock.  All stamps by STAMPlorations.

Thanks for stopping by!

Glittery Happy

Over the weekend I was witness to my friend's first ever hole in one!  I made her this card inspired by the challenge at Time Out! - CASE with your own twist.

Here is Anita's card you are to CASE:

And my take on the CASE:

Used my air vent die to cut the strip.  Adhered ScorTape to the back side of the cut out and added glitter in shades of green.  Adhered to a white base and didn't like the way the edges looked, so added some turquoise strips.  Die cut the sentiment in green, turquoise and white and glued them together a little offset for a shadow effect.

And the inside of the card:

Thanks for visiting!

Just Us Girls Challenge #255

Lisa is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls for our Photo Week.  I love this photo with the rustic wagon and flowers.

Our talented August Guest Designer is with us again this week - Kristie Goulet.

And here is what I was inspired to create.

I was inspired by the rustic colors and the flowers.  The flowers and sentiment are from Gina K.  The flowers were colored with Touch Twin markers.  The Spellbinders die was inked around the edges, stamped with a canvas background stamp then threaded with cream floss.  The background is Core'dinations Shattered which has been distressed around the edges.

Come play along with us at Just Us Girls!

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our August challenges, you will be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of October.  Good luck!

I am also entering this in the STAMPlorations August Challenge - Stamps and Die Cuts.

Just Us Girls Challenge #254 - Color

It's my turn to host over at Just Us Girls and it is a color challenge this week.  The colors are blue, green and any neutrals you would like to add.  I was thinking on the lines of navy and lime, but any shade will do.

We also have our August Guest Designer with us again this week - Kristie Goulet!

I have been dying to use this new lime green embossing powder and I love how it turned out on the navy cardstock!  I used a couple of old Stampin Up background stamps, hearts are by Gina K and the "You Glow Girl" sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Just a reminder:  If you win Chic of the Week in any of our August challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of October.

Good Luck!

Just Us Girls Challenge #253 - Trend

It's trend week over at Just Us Girls!  Sue T. is our hostess this week and she is asking us to use washi tape on our creations.

Don't forget to check out our August Guest Designer Kristie Goulet!

I really didn't forget my brother's birthday, only forgot to mail his card, so I had to make a belated card.  The sentiment, from CASual Fridays, really grabs your attention.  Sponged the splattery images through a stencil from STAMPlorations and added a few strips of washi tape.

Don't forget, if you win any of our August challenges, you could be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of October!  Come play with us!

Just Us Girls Challenge #252 - Ribbon

This week our challenge is Word Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy is our hostess and the word she has chosen is "Ribbon".  Come and show us your ribbons!

We would also like to welcome our August Guest Designer - Kristie Goulet!

I have to admit that I am not much of a ribbon girl, so this was a real challenge for me.  Instead of tying a ribbon on my card, I just added little ribbon flags.  This didn't photograph very well, the mat and the base really match much better IRL!  The image is from Inkadinkado and is colored with Touch Twin markers and some Wink of Stella pens.  The sentiment is from WPlus9.

Just a reminder, if you win any of our August Challenges, you could be chosen to be our October Guest Designer!

We hope you will join us this week with our Ribbon challenge!
