Nautical Baby

I love the inspiration photo at TIME OUT Challenges!

I had this striped background stamp in my stash that has been unmounted, so I don't know who it's by.  Lined up the background with my MISTI and stamped in Memento Nautical Blue ink.  Stamped, colored and cut out the little sailboat by Gina K and glued onto the card.  Lined up the sentiment using my MISTI and stamped it in Memento Lady Bug ink.

Thanks for dropping by!

Just Us Girls #307 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls with Chris as our hostess!  With autumn closing in on us, this is so perfect,

With us again this week is our August Guest Designer - Karen Bourke.  Come see how this photo has inspired Karen and the rest of the JUGS Design Team.

I tried out Jennifer McGuire's technique for this one - Faux Textured Metal.  Here is a link to her tutorial Jennifer McGuire Ink.  First the edges were masked off using painter's tape.  I used various Distress Inks sponged on the center, then covered with Versamark and dusted with Perfect Pearls.  Removed the tape and ran it through my Big Shot in a lattice embossing folder.  Sponged the leaves with reds, oranges and yellow Distress Inks then sprayed with some gold shimmer spray.  Layered the die cut sentiment (2 layers) across the top of it.

Now let's see what inspires you from our beautiful fall photo.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

The Male Room #17

A new challenge at The Male Room!  And my second posting as their August Guest Designer!

First I crumpled up some newsprint then lightly sponged on browns and black Distress Ink.  Flattened it out, but not completely and glued ti to the sponged card base.  The old car is from Repeat Impressions and I stamped it with black ink on some cream cardstock, then sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink around it for an antique look.  The car was too black, so I colored over it with an Antique Linen Distress Marker and added some Picket Fence Distress Marker to the white walls and headlights.

A huge thank you to all of you at The Male Room for allowing me to join you this month!!!!!

Just Us Girls #306 - Color Week

Ina is our hostess this week and she has chosen a stunning, elegant color combo for us at Just Us Girls for our Color Week Challenge!

Come on over to JUGS to see what our August Guest Designer - Karen Bourke and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have done with this stunning color combo.

I pulled out an old Stampin Up background stamp - Weathered.  Stamped the background with Memento London Fog in and then added the Autumn Leaves Flourish in Memento Gray Flannel onto some light gray cardstock.  Stamped the flower on the striped cardstock and heat embossed it with red ep.  Layered it onto some black cardstock and stamped the sentiment in black.

Now it's your turn to show us what you can do with these classy colors.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible to possibly become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls Trend Week #305

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to hostess for this fun challenge!  I have been seeing a big comeback of Vellum, so my challenge to you is to use vellum in some way on your creation.  I still had some vellum in my stash from way back when!

We have our Guest Designer, Karen Bourke with us again this week!  Hop on over to Just Us Girls to see what she has done with vellum along with the rest of the JUGS Design Team!

This card uses lots of old, but not forgotten items!  I bought the giraffe and the SU set So Very back in my early stamping days along with the vellum.  I heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of vellum.  The falling hearts background was done with shimmer cardstock by Gina K and the little hearts by the sentiments are die cut from glitter cardstock.

Come play along with us at JUGS and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would make you eligible to possibly become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

The Male Room #16

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer at The Male Room this month!  Thank you so much for having me, it is a real honor.  The theme for Challenge #16 is Vacation or On the Beach.  The Design Team has really outdone themselves on this one!

The sand/beach was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and the waves are torn pieces of Core'dinations cardstock with WPlus9 white ink dabbed along the edges.  Stamps are by Gina K.

Now it's your turn to come on over to The Male Room and play along with us!

Spots & Stripes

I used the theme from The Male Room - Spots & Stripes

And the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

I love these Crazy Birds by Tim Holtz!  I used a pre-made striped card base by American Crafts.  Added some green gel pen to the dotted banner for faux stitching.  Colored the little bird with Touch Twin markers and layered him onto a circle die cut piece of burlap that kind of reminded me of a nest.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls #304 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Maria has us thinking about Autumn.

It's August and that means we have a new Guest Designer with us this week.  I would like to welcome Karen Bourke!  Come on over to Just Us Girls and see what Karen and the rest of the Design Team have created with this week's theme.

I think of sunflowers when I think of Autumn!  Stamps by Gina K.  The sunflower was stamped with Versamark and clear embossed then colored with Inktense Watercolor Pencils.

Now it's your turn to show us what Autumn makes you think of.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week and that would put you in the running to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
