Stenciled Sketch

I stumbled across a new to me challenge blog - CAS Colours & Sketches and had to play along

And since I used a stencil it also is a fit for the CAS on Sunday Challenge #79 - Stencil It.

CAS on Sunday

The yellow striped panel is a stencil that was sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade.  The flowers from Concord & 9th were masked and stamped then colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  The sentiment from Altenew was stamped with Versafine Onxy and heat embossed with clear ep.  In my first take, I got a black smudge on the right lower side and some pencil around one of the flowers that I couldn't get erased, so I decided to start over, but saved the blossoms by cutting them out and layering onto the card front.  I tried  to fix the original by trying to conceal my boo boos, but it was a lost cause.

Just Us Girls #336 - Photo Week

Nancy has us thinking about the shore/beach this week with this fabulous photo for our Photo Week Challenge at Just Us Girls!

For more inspiration, visit Just Us Girls to see what inspired our Guest Designer - Stephanie Castro and the rest of the Design Team.

I was inspired by the colors and the theme of the photo.  First stamped the the seagull on the posts, then colored in the shore and covered with Versamark and sand embossing powder.  Stamped more gulls in the sky and sponged some Distress Ink across the lower portion for the sea.  Stamped, colored and cut out the starfish and shells and added to the sand.   Colored the images with Distress Markers.

How does this photo inspire you?  Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to be our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Hippity Hop!

An Easter card for one of my grandsons.  Perfect timing at The Male Room with their theme of Easter.

Die cut the triple squares on the dp, added a strip of light blue cardstock behind the squares. Used the multiple blade scissors to make the grass. Stamped the bunnies and cut them out then adhered in the squares. Stamped the sentiment and cut it out by hand.

Playing with the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

Using a stencil for CAS on Sunday Challenge #79

For your blog

And Curtain Call - Rainbow

Quick and easy!  First stenciled the arrows, twisty lines and the dotted line.  Then added the sentiment and last of all added the stars.  Everything was stamped and stenciled in the colors of the rainbow.

Just Us Girls #335 - Color Week

With Spring and Easter approaching, Chris has chosen the perfect colors for us this week at Just Us Girls for our Color Challenge!

Visit  Just Us Girls to see how our Guest Designer Stephanie Castro and the rest of the Design Team were inspired by these colors.

We recently found out that we are going to have a new addition to our family!  This will be grandchild #5 for us.  These soft colors are so perfect for a baby card and, yes they are feminine.  We don't know the gender yet so I may have to alter this a little by adding some blue before I send it.  Stamps are Oh Baby! by Gina K and the chevron is a $ stamp from Michael's.

What do these colors make you think of?  Share with us over at JUGS and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Reverse Confetti

I just received my very first order from Reverse Confetti!  Where have I been?  I love their fun style to their stamps and dies.

I had to play along with their sketch challenge, stretching it ever so slightly.

34_Mar2016

I used Swirlies, Straight Stripes Pretty Panels and Hang Ups.  The striped panel was die cut in yellow and red, then the red stripes were inlaid into the yellow panel.  For the squares I used the Hang Ups peeking out of the left side.  The little black dots were leftovers from the Hang Ups.  I neglected to order any stamps, why did I do that?, so the sentiment is a $ stamp from Michael's.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #334 - Trend Week.

It's time for some fun!  Vicki is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls for our Trend Challenge and what is more fun than a Shaker Card!

Come on over to Just Us Girls and see what our Guest Designer Stephanie Castro and the rest of the Design Team have created with Shakers.

This week we are also welcoming 2 new Design Team Members!  A huge welcome to Judy Woodland and Bobby Hagen!  It is so exciting to have both of these fabulous designers joining out team.

This was really hard to get a good photo of with all the sparkle and shine.  The sentiment and star were die cut from silver glitter paper and the soccer ball was made by a hexagon embossing folder and colored in the spots with a black gel pen,   If you look close you can see my mishap of adding one green sequin to the shaker!

Now it's your turn to Shake it Up!  You could be chosen as our Chic of  the week, which would then put you in the running at possibly becoming our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Life Happens!

I made a get well card for a male friend who is in the hospital.  I used a couple of challenges for inspiration.

The Male Room - Make it Move

And Cardz 4 Guyz - Paper Piecing

Cardz 4 Guyz

Stamped the stripes onto the polka dot background and added some stamped stitches across the top of the stripes.  Stamped, colored and paper pieced the little ambulance, then cut it out.  Added the sentiment on the circle, matted with black and popped it up over the larger circle after adding the penny half under the background and then added the little ambulance with a pop dot onto the penny so that the ambulance can travel around the sentiment.  It needed a little something, so die cut the heartbeat like border and added it to the finished product.

Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

Just Us Girls #333 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Maria is our hostess challenging us with "Flowers".  I can't wait to see some flowers starting to bloom here in Michigan!

Please join us in welcoming our March Guest Designer - Stephanie Castro!  Pop on over to Just Us Girls to see a whole garden of flowers by Stephanie and the rest of the Design Team.

Playing around with some water coloring again using Distress Inks. After the background dried, I stamped the sentiment first then masked it and stamped the flowers.  I kept added more color to the flowers with Distress Markers and then added some clear Wink of Stella.  All stamps are by Gina K.

Now it's your turn to help build our beautiful flower garden at JUGS!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible to possibly become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I am also linking this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge, the theme is Anything Goes.  I've had this floral image by Gina K forever and this is the first time it has seen ink!
