I love what both designers did with the Oxide ink on the backgrounds and that is where I started!  Sponged Distress Oxide Iced Spruce and left a white area on the bottom of the tag.  Stamped the tree from my very first Gina K set with Distress Pine Needles ink and colored the trunk and branches with a brown Touch Twin marker, then added the snow on the branches with a white Pitt pen.  Added some Nuvo Moonstone glitter paste on the snowy bottom of the tag.  Stamped the cute little snowman from Penny Black, colored it with greens and reds markers and a little shading with a light gray marker.  Cut him out and adhered to the tag and tied it off with some green raffia.

Stamped the snowgirl from an old Gina K set on watercolor paper and used watercolor pencils to color her hat, scarf, sweater and the gift.  Pulled out my Twinkling H2Os and colored the white body and the background giving this a lot of shimmer.  Added some pink Stickles to the trim on her hat, scarf ends and cuff.  Stamped the snowflakes from a couple different sets with Brilliance blue ink, even more shimmer and added some Stickles along the bottom edge.  Stamped the sentiment on the small tag and tied on with some deep pink sheer ribbon.

Joy Sketch

Still working on Christmas cards!  This one is  inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Stenciled some white dots on vellum and adhered to some patterned paper.  Stamped the JOY sentiment and heat embossed with red ep and stamped the blue lines from Concord & 9th.  Stamped the snowflake from the same set over the center of the O and heat embossed with silver tinsel ep.  Die cut the snowflakes and inked with Brilliance Platinum ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stencil Reindeer

I picked up this reindeer stencil at my LSS and couldn't wait to use him.  The challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More helped with the idea for my card.

Stamped the woodgrain background from Concord & 9th on kraft with Hero Arts Wet Cement ink.  Stenciled the reindeer with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and stamped the sentiment also from Concord & 9th  and heat embossed with white ep.  Very quick and easy!

Thanks for taking a look!

12-tags-challenge-day03-julie-fw50

I don't sew and I don't have any felt, so I went with burlap.  The tag base is made from Popsicle sticks, attached some raffia to the top.  Die cut and decorated the tree with gold and copper (colored with a sharpie)  and glued it to the tag.  Colored the wooden star with a light brown Touch Twin marker and placed it atop the tree.  Stamped the sentiment in black and added the stamped stars in bronze ink.  A lot of naturalness going on here!

Christmas Time

Working on finishing up my Christmas cards and found some challenges to inspire me.

Ellen Hutson's the CLASSroom - Use your favorite Essentials by Ellen stamps.
Anniversary-2017-bloghop-square-rgb

And Double D Challenges - Here comes Santa Claus

Started with the largest dot from Bokeh Dots and stamped the moon in yellow.  Stamped Santa and his reindeer from Santa's Flight with black.  Sponged on Distress inks in blues, purples and black.  Splattered some white Wink of Stella for snow.  Heat embossed the sentiment with white ep.  Used some Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock and used a snowflake embossing folder, then sanded the snowflakes.

Cardz 4 Guyz - Challenge #183  Reindeer

Cardz 4 Guyz

This set is from Clearly Besotted.  Stamped the reindeer and colored with Touch Twin markers and stamped the trees with Distress Oxide ink, they weren't showing up very well, so went  over them with a gel pen.  Smeared WPlus9 white ink across the bottom and added some Nuvo past in Moonstone.  Mounted on green cardstock and added the sentiment strip.  Layered onto some white glitter paper.

And lastly, The Male Room - Challenge #74 - Use Vellum

Stenciled some white dots on vellum with WPlus9 white ink, flipped it over and stamped the JOY from Concord & 9th with Brilliance red, die cut the Joy (also from Concord & 9th) from silver glitter paper and layered over the stamped letters.  Stamped some big snowflakes from Stampendous in Brilliance Blue ink. Adhered the vellum strip over the snowflake layer and stamped the rest of the sentiment just below the vellum.  Layered onto a red card base.

Just Us Girls #421 - Photo Week

It's the last Saturday of the month and that means it's time for a Photo Challenge at Just Us Girls and I LOVE the photo Vicki has chosen for our inspiration!

This is our last week with our Guest Designer, Trina Pham and I would like to say THANK YOU for sharing all of your awesome designs with us this past month!  It's not only Trina's last week with us, but also our last challenge of this year.  The JUGS team is going to take a break for the month of December to be able to have time to prepare for the holidays and have more time to spend with our families.  Now come on over to JUGS to see what Trina and the rest of the amazing JUGS girls have created with this photo as inspiration.

Pretty simple!  Stamped the large Gina K ornament (again) with blue Brilliance ink on white, added the silver hanging cord using platinum Brilliance and die cut topper.  Stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts with Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy.

This one uses a Studio G set from Michael's.  Stamped the trees with Versamark and heat embossed with silver ep.  Colored in the middle tree with a turquoise Stardust gel pen and added the dots on the outside trees with a red gel pen.  Stamped the sentiment in Memento Teal Zeal.

Join our Color Challenge at Just Us Girls and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

We have Trina Pham with us again this week as our Guest Designer!  Hop on over to the JUGS blog to see how these colors inspired Trina and the rest of the Design Team.

Stamped the script panel from Gina K in Memento Rich Cocoa on Ivory.  Stamped the ornament, also by Gina K onto some Turquoise Sea cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with some aged gold embossing powder.  Added the die cut ornament top and die cut gold bow.  Layered onto some dark brown cardstock and a Turquoise Sea card base.

Sketched Joy

Another Christmas card, this time using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

A lot of shine on this by using all Brilliance inks and so hard to get a good photo.  Used a really old SU alpha set for the J and Y, the globe, sentiment and stripes from various Concord & 9th sets and the rays are a stencil..

Thanks for taking the time to take a closer look!

Tree in Snow

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

And also the theme from Cardz 4 Guyz - Challenge #182 - Oh! Christmas Tree

Cardz 4 Guyz

Stamped the tree and colored with Distress Inks.  Added some Nuvo Glitter paste on an angle in the lower left corner for snow.  Used some light blue Shimmer Mist by dropping some on my kraft mat and using a water brush to color the rest of the panel.  Shimmer and glittery surfaces are so hard to get a good photo!

Thanks for dropping by!
