Stripey Birthday

I needed a quick birthday card and the challenge at Fusion Card Challenge was the perfect inspiration!

Stamped the striped piece with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The balloon with Hero Arts Orange Soda Shadow Ink and the birthday with Versamark on black and heat embossed with white ep.
Quick and easy!

Brick Birthday

Over at CAS-ual Fridays they have a color challenge going on to use Kraft and White.

Embossed the brick background on a piece of kraft cardstock then swiped some white ink all over it.  After that dried, stamped the big flourish across the bricks.  Found the piece of kraft and white striped dp in my stash and stamped the big happy birthday from CAS-ual Fridays with kraft pigment ink and heat embossed with clear ep.  Layered onto some darker kraft cardstock and the card base is a lighter kraft.

Thanks for dropping by!

Just Us Girls #408 - Photo Week

It's time for a Photo Week Challenge at Just Us Girls!  Maria has chosen a fun Photo for our inspiration!

Sadly, this is our last week with our amazing Guest Designer, Darnell Knauss.  Please check out the JUGS blog to see how Darnell and the rest of the Design Team were inspired by this Photo.

I pulled out this old Stampin Up Flamingo and colored with Touch Twin markers.  Stamped the pineapple and little flower from Concord & 9th and added the little banner which is a stamp from WPlus9.  Added some yellow gel pen dots to the scallops, it really is a deep pink, but looks red in the photo.

How does this photo inspire you?  Come show us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

A Couple of Birthday Cards

Using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

Watercolored the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird and die cut.  Stamped the circle image from Ellen Hutson's Bokeh Dots in Memento Plum.  Stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti with Versafine Onyx Black and die cut and layered.

Next a masculine birthday card for the challenge #176 at Cardz for Guys - Fancy Folds

This uses Concord & 9th Stripe Builder and Celebrations stamps and dies.  It also uses a dot from Ellen Hutson's Bokeh Dots (to cover a couple of smudges).  Added black Stickles to the bow and a few dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in black.  This is an interlocking fold created with the Celebrations die set, and yes it is off center. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Just Us Girls #407 - Color Week

It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls and this week is Color Week with Me as your hostess!  I was thinking about the kids getting ready to go back to school and it made me think of crayons, so I chose 3 of the primary colors from the crayon box.

Check out the JUGS blog to see how these colors inspired our Guest Designer, Darnell Knauss and the rest of the Design Team.

I used an old Gina K set - Oh Boy! using the sailboat and sentiment.  Added various patterned papers from my stash and added some die cut stars cut from glittered cardstock.  This is for my youngest grandson's first birthday.

What do these colors make you think of ?  Come show us what you create using these colors only and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #406 - Trend Week

It's time for a new Trend at Just Us Girls and Judy is challenging us to Bring on the Shine!

We have with us again this week, Darnell Knauss as our Guest Designer!  Check out what Darnell and the rest of the Design Team at JUGS have created by Bringing on the Shine!

The background is stenciled with Distress Oxide ink in Broken China.  Then stamped the dragonfly from an old SU set, but the background was showing through the wings, so stamped it again on some white cardstock, colored the wings and added some Stickles.  Cut out the wings and paper pieced onto the original dragonfly.  Added some Sakura black glaze pen over the body of the dragonfly.  Then die cut the sentiment from some black Glitter Silk cardstock by Core'dinations.

Come play with us in our Trend Week Challenge and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Miss You Map

I was inspired by a few challenges this week.

The Male Room - Maps/Coordinates

Time Out - Photo - Home Sweet Home

Double D using neutrals - tan, cream, kraft, off white, etc. with texture

I started off by stamping the map from Concord & 9th with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on some thin cork.  Die cut a brown frame for a mat and then another frame from ivory cardstock which I covered with Versamark and heat embossed with Distress ep in Vintage Photo.  Used a cream piece of diamond embossed cardstock from Core'dinations and onto a base made from Gina K Sandy Beach.  Die cut a heart from kraft and distress with some brown ink.  Sentiment is stamped with Espresso Truffle, die cut the tag and sponged the edges with more Espresso Truffle.  Tied the tag onto the heart with some brown/cream baker's twine.

Just Us Girls #405 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen the word "Shower".  This could be a rain shower, baby shower, bridal shower or bathroom shower.  What are you going to create with a Shower?

Since this is the first challenge of August, that means we have a new Guest Designer!  Please welcome the one and only Darnell  Knauss!  Come on over to JUGS to see how Darnell and the rest of the Design Team have been inspired by the Word Shower.

Stamped the umbrella, colored with Touch Twin markers and cut it out.  Stamped the sentiment  and punched with word window punch.  Die cut the banner from turquoise and punched out the center again with the word window punch and inlaid the sentiment.  Added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Neptune for rain drops.  The striped background paper was found in my stash.

Now it's your turn to come play along with us in our Word Week challenge.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
