Bokeh Snow Christmas

Playing along with The Mod Squad Challenge to add snow to your card with and addition of adding a bohek background!

Modsquad Challenge

First , watercolored the background then added the white dots, which are almost impossible to see in this photo with Essentials by Ellen Bokeh Dots using WPlus9 white ink..  Die cut the trees and trimmed off the rest of the coverplate, since I only wanted a few trees.  Then sponged and used waterbased markers to color the trees. Die but the Tim Holtz deer in a cocoa brown and sponged some darker ink.  Added some glitter past along the bottom for my snow, but it needed more coverage, so added some Carrera Marble glitter.  Stamped the diagonal stripes in kraft on some ivory cardstock.

Just Us Girls #417 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has a very cool photo for our inspiration!

It's our last week with Karola Rehnstrom and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to her for being our fabulous Guest Designer this past month!  Pop on over to the JUGS blog to see what Karola and the rest oaf the Design Team have created with this photo as inspiration.

I was inspired by that gorgeous background.  First I sponged on some ink and then used spray mist to get the speckled effect.  I needed another Halloween card for one of my grandsons so I went with the Tim Holtz Crazy Birds.  This one looks like a vampire to me, so I colored him with Touch Twin markers, die cut and hung him upside down from the branch.

Come show us how you are inspired by this photo and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #416 - Color Week

Vicki is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls and she has a very timely color palette to inspire us.

Hop on over to the JUGS blog to see how these colors inspired our Guest Designer, Karola Rehnstrom and the rest of the talented Design Team.

Sponged purple, green and black Distress inks on the background and used an old Gina K set Boo.  Stamped the image in black and added some white gel pen to the ghost in the doorway nd the windows.  The banner looks a little yellow in the photo, but it really is a light green with some purple sparkly gel pen on the letters.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible for a chance at becoming our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

More Halloween

Finishing up my Halloween cards and was inspired by a few challenges.

Addicted to CAS - Pumpkins

The Male Room - Use metal

Stamped and heat embossed with black ep on a piece of metal then colored in some of the elements with Touch Twin markers and a white chalk marker.  Stamped the diagonal stripe using black ink on orange cardstock then mounted on a gray card base.

Stamped the black cat image on yellow cardstock, colored around the moon with a purple Touch Twin marker, then shaded with Black Distress ink.  Covered a strip of web ribbon with glue and added black glitter.  The little circle on the sentiment strip is a little spider which was covered with some clear Wink of Stella.

Just Us Girls #415 - Trend Week

We have Karola Rehnstrom with us again this week as our October Guest Designer.  Check out the creations over at the JUGS blog to see what Karola and the rest of the Design Team have created using windows or a peek-a-boo card.

I used Gina K's Inspiration Mosaic stamped on a premade watercolor panel.  Cut out the 2 rectangles and framed them with black cardstock.  Stamped the flower and the sentiment and placed behind the cut out windows.  Colored the flower with Touch Twin markers and filled in the hello with gel pen.  Added a few splatters.

The October Mix it Up challenge at The Classroom is to use both stamps from Altenew and Ellen Hutson.
Banner-MIX-it

This is also a fit for the Mix It Up Challenge - Anything goes + Watercoloring

Happy Little Stampers October Watercolor Challenge - Anything Goes with Optional Twist - Gold

I used Beautiful Day from Altenew and Bokeh Dots from Essentials by Ellen.  First I heat embossed the Bokeh Dots larger, swirly circle with gold ep on some kraft cardstock and then added the smaller dots in Brilliance Platinum.  Splattered some Wink of Stella in silver and brown (even though they all look the same on this).  Embossed the flower and leaves with gold ep on watercolor paper and colored with watercolor pencils.  Stamped the sentiment, also from Altenew with Versafine Sepia (it didn't photograph very well).

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #414 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to hostess.  I have chosen the word Light.  This leaves a lot of room for interpretation.  It could be a light of some sort or something that is light in weight or light colored.

It's a new month and that means a new Guest Designer!  I would like to welcome Karola Rehnstrom as our October Guest Designer!  Come on over to the JUGS blog to see what Karola and the rest of the Design Team have been inspired to create with the word Light.

The first card I went with something light - feathers.  Stamped the feather by  randomly on the card base in Hero Arts Wet Cement and added the sentiment from Gina k in the center using black ink.  Quick and simple!

The second card I went with a light (lamp).  All stamps are from Gina K, Concord & 9th and the stripes are a stencil.  Stamped the Inspiration Mosaic on the card base then masked off the blocks and stamped the pink polka dots and stenciled in the stripes.  Colored the lamp base with a Touch Twin marker and paper pieced the lamp shade which was stamped using a Concord & 9th falling hearts stamp.  A little time consuming, but fun to make.

Come play along with us showing us how the word Light inspires you and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Halloween Sketch

Working on some Halloween cards for my grandsons and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this one.

Started by smearing some Distress ink on some watercolor paper then smearing some Distress Oxide ink on my craft mat, misting and then dragged the watercolor paper through the misted Oxide ink.  The witch and sentiment are $ stamps from Joanne's .   The witch was heat embossed in black then cut out.  Die cut a circle from some pale yellow cardstock and inked the edges with Distress ink in Mustard Seed.  Adhered the witch to the "moon" and cut the sentiment out and layered over the moon.  The silver  swooshes are from Hero Arts, stamped twice with Versamark and heat embossed with silver ep.  It looked a little flat, so I sponged on some black Distress ink, heavier around the edges.

Thanks for taking a look!
